2) Ice Skating at Bryant Park

Just as classic as the alternative option at Rockefeller Center, the free-admission rink at Bryant Park is a great place to try out your skills on skates with friends and family. Afterwards, browse through the artisan good at the stores of the Winter Village, and grab a bite to eat from Danny Meyer's Public Fare. 

3) Winter Cocktails

Nothing beats a hot toddy or fine craft cocktail in front of a roaring fire, and Manhattan has plenty of places to snuggle up while taking a break from the day's travels. Choose the Flatiron Room, Lantern's Keep, Employees Only, or Whitman and Bloom Liquor Company, and settle in for a cozy afternoon of delicious drinks, good company and what's bound to be a beautiful winter atmosphere. 

4) Columbus Circle Holiday Market

Find a new favorite artisan at this bustling holiday spot, located near the southwest entrance of Central Park outside of 59th Street and Central Park West. In addition to some of New York City's best food vendors, you'll be in luck if you're looking for clothing, accessories, jewelry, and art. Held daily until Dec. 24, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m., you can beat the crowds by going on weekdays. 

5) Winter Jazzfest 2017

A regular staple of NYC's musical culture, Winter Jazzfest in January brings outstanding acts from around the world to enjoy five nights of performances. The two-night marathon in Greenwich Village is traditionally a signature event, featuring seasoned players as well as fresh talents. With wristbands, you can get into any show at any venue in the festival, providing a rich tour of New York's best clubs and jazz spots.
